2021 Summer Celebration Camps

Our goal was to offer 50 individual spots at Celebration Camp (25 per week), so we asked families to only sign their child(ren) up for one week. We also wanted to hold some slots for new kids! To do that, we staggered registration into two sections:

1. April 30th, 5pm - Registration for returning families opened!

"If you are a family whose kids have attended EarthWalk’s programs in the past, anyone in your family is welcome to register. There are 15 slots per week available for returning families, and registration is first come, first served."

2. May 7th, 5pm - Registration for New Campers will opened! "If your family has not attended EarthWalk programs before, we would love to welcome you at EarthWalk Celebration Camp this year. There will be 10 slots per week available for new campers, **BUT we are holding some of these spots for BIPOC Campers!**"

If we can expand organizational capacity this summer, there’s a chance we will be able to open camp to more kids! We will let you know if that becomes a reality.

EarthWalk’s educational philosophy is based on deep nature connection as the foundation for all learning, supported by a vibrant and caring community. EarthWalk's summer camps take place in Hawthorn Meadow on the Goddard College campus in Plainfield. The forest trails, Winooski River access, cob oven, shelters, and magical land all create the perfect place for a fun summer day camp!

Each day of camp begins and ends with a community circle of shared songs and stories. Mornings start off with peer groups, deepening sensory awareness, naturalist and camp-craft skills. In the afternoons, campers choose from a diversity of multi-aged workshop choices. Discover summer camp workshop options here

Some of the activities we offer at camp, are: nature games, bow-drill friction-fire, singing, storytelling, foraging, exploring, cob oven baking, stewardship projects, crafts, wood carving, shelter-building, naturalist skills, river exploration, wildlife tracking and more!

EarthWalk's Core Routines are infused into each camp day. Learn more about these guiding principles.

We hope you will join us!!

2021 Reparations Offering

In acknowledgement of our obligation and role in undoing the current and historic harms of systemic racism and colonization, EarthWalk Vermont is committed to offering our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) families the option of Reparations (100% free tuition). Discount codes for each week are provided at checkout.

Notes: Understanding that many BIPOC families have access to abundant financial resources, this Offering is not a scholarship fund, and it is not based on the financial situation of the participant’s family.

This offering also honors our commitment to establish priorities and actions to restart EarthWalk’s public programming with Decolonization, Anti-racism & Community Building at the core. See our Project Chrysalis to learn more - https://www.earthwalkvermont.org/project-chrysalis.

2021 Financial Aid

We do not want financial circumstances to be a barrier to attending EarthWalk Camp. Nature Connection and a Caring Community needs to be for everyone, regardless of economic circumstances. PLEASE request a scholarship, and we will make it work for your family.

Requesting Financial Aid

Register your child for camp to reserve your space, pay a deposit of $25. Make a short request via email with "Scholarship" in the subject line to financialaid@earthwalkvermont.org,

answering the following brief questions:

What is your situation? (2-3 sentences.)

What can you pay? $25, $50, $100, $175, $300? Other?

The financial aid committee will respond within a week. Please know that we will hold a place for you, and offer financial aid with the intention of equitable distributions to all families in need. Thank you!
